#Credituniongood

We believe that by doing good throughout our membership areas, we can help shape a more positive future for our communities and our members.

 2024 community impact highlights

Donations and Sponsorships

We donated $480,298 to 284 organizations in our communities, and awarded $11,000 in scholarships to members pursuing higher education.

 Volunteer Hours

236 volunteers gave back 1,856 hours to 79 different organizations. We also partnered directly with organizations to help host or run 90 community events.

 Communities First Program

We donate $46,500 annually, totaling $238,000 (2018-2024, 7 years) to seven community colleges and 13 hospitals in our service areas.

CU4Kids

From the inception of Credit Unions for Kids in 1986, our staff and members have wholeheartedly embraced fundraising for OHSU Doernbecher's lifesaving services for local children and their families. Since 2010, we’ve raised over $614,000 from our various Credit Unions for Kids fundraisers and every penny has supported Doernbecher.

Scholarships

Each year, we award seven members-only scholarships totaling $11,000 to deserving students pursuing any field of study. Applications are typically available in the fall. The application period ends in March and scholarships are awarded in May.

Community Programs

Communities First Program Founded in 2018, our Communities First Program supports education and healthcare related services. To date, we've donated $238,000 to seven community college foundations and 13 hospital foundations in our service areas.
Neighbor2Neighbor Every year, we give each of our departments special donation funds to give back in a personal, meaningful way in their communities. We call this program Neighbor2Neighbor: Employee-Led Giving From the Heart, and it’s one more way we can share #CreditUnionGood with others.
Employee Volunteerism We don't just talk the talk. Fibre Federal fosters a strong spirit of volunteerism among our staff. Our employees have volunteered over 8,350 hours and counting for community events.
Cash Club Cares Program We donate $5 for each new youth account opened to the nearest animal shelter, up to $5,000 per year. Since 2017, we've donated $33,321 to help furry friends find new homes!
Financial Education Our Community Engagement & Education Coordinators partner with K-12 schools, colleges, and local organizations in our communities to provide free financial education classes and learning materials. We believe building healthy financial habits at any age is a skill that benefits people for a lifetime.

Christmas Tags

We partner with foster child programs in Cowlitz, Wahkiakum, Columbia, Clatsop, Tillamook, and Lincoln Counties to collect donations of gifts and cash just in time for the holidays.

Real Words, Real People from the PNW

Money was never something that we talked about growing up, so it’s something I really try to focus on with my kids. My kids each have accounts at the credit union. My daughter just turned six and feels like such a big girl when she’s able to make that transaction with a teller. If I had had those conversations with my family, I could have had more opportunities to do the things that I wanted to do.
