Building Better Access for Our Hispanic Communities

We recently celebrated a milestone that means a lot to our Fibre Family. On August 21, employees, community partners, and guests gathered outside our Commerce Financial Services Center to celebrate our Juntos Avanzamos designation. 
 
Juntos Avanzamos means “Together We Advance,” and that’s really what this recognition is all about: making sure more of our neighbors and families have access to the financial services and support they need to feel confident about their financial futures. We're now among 167 credit unions nationwide that have been granted this esteemed designation, and one of just a handful in the Pacific Northwest.

What Does Juntos Avanzamos Mean for Our Members?

More than 10% of our communities are Hispanic, and we want our Spanish-speaking members to have access to the same financial services, information, and support as anyone else. Here are just a few of the ways we’re making that happen:

  • Service in Spanish, however you connect with us. That includes in person, over the phone, through chat and video, on our website, and through LiveConnect on-screen service at our ITMs.
  • ITIN-friendly accounts and loans. An Individual Taxpayer Identification Number (ITIN) can be used instead of a Social Security number for new membership and applying for a loan.
  • Free first-time homebuyer classes in Spanish to make the path to homeownership a little easier to navigate.
  • Financial education tools in Spanish to help members build their knowledge and confidence.

And We’re Not Done Yet

Our Juntos Avanzamos recognition is something worth celebrating, but to us, it’s also about what comes next. We're committed to making financial services easier to access, removing barriers, and helping more of our members build brighter financial futures.
