When Wacky Meets Wonderful

If you happen to visit a financial services center on the second Wednesday of the month, you might notice some of our Fibre Family staff looking a little different than usual. Bright colors, fun costumes, or themed outfits are all part of Wacky Wednesdays, lighthearted spirit days with an important purpose.

Wacky Wednesdays help support our long-running Snacks for Kids program, which has been serving local students for nearly 15 years. The program provides snacks to students at St. Helens Elementary School in Longview, with Community Champions and staff volunteers delivering a healthy snack to each student every other Friday during the school year. Snacks for Kids helps bridge the gap for students who may not always have enough food over the weekend.

Staff members who donate $5 per month to the program get to participate in the monthly spirit day, bringing a little extra fun and creativity to the workday while supporting a cause that makes a real difference for local families. In 2025 alone, Wacky Wednesdays raised $2,580 to support this impactful program.

Through the generosity of our team and the dedication of our Community Champions and volunteers, Snacks for Kids continues to help fight childhood hunger and ensure students have the fuel they need to learn, grow, and thrive. So if you see some wacky outfits around the credit union on the second Wednesday of the month, you’ll know there’s a meaningful reason behind the fun!
