Celebrating Growth, Leadership, and Strong Women
In honor of National Women’s History Month, we hosted our first Women of Impact Panel on March 5 at Lower Columbia College. The event brought together community members, professionals, and students for an evening of inspiration and connection.
Our panel featured five female leaders from our Fibre Family who shared their personal and professional journeys in the credit union industry. The discussion was emceed by Ashley Lachney, Fibre Federal Credit Union Board Member, and included panelists Heather Snyder, AVP Marketing & Community Development; Robbie Alba-Estrada, VP Controller; Claudia Alvarez, Virtual Manager; Ellen Scattergood, VP Member Operations; and Sara Kulp, Employee Engagement Supervisor.
Panelists spoke candidly about the workplace and personal challenges they have faced, the lessons they’ve learned along the way, and the importance of advocating for yourself while surrounding yourself with people who recognize and support your potential. The event also created space for meaningful networking and conversation, allowing attendees to ask questions and connect with experienced leaders, industry professionals, and others in the community.
The event also included a donation drive benefiting Emergency Support Shelter. Guest speakers Shira Lile, ESS Executive Director, and Sara Sanchez, ESS Development Director, shared about the organization’s work supporting survivors of domestic and sexual violence. Generous attendees donated cash and needed supplies to help further ESS’s mission of providing safety, advocacy, and support.
The Women of Impact Panel celebrated leadership and encouraged open conversations about both the challenges and successes that shape career journeys. We’re grateful for the participation and insights shared throughout the evening and for the opportunity to highlight the positive impact our female leaders make in the credit union industry and our communities.
