Dolly Parton's Imagination Library Fundraiser

A healthy community starts with literacy, and your donation helps!

We all know literacy is essential to a child’s success in school. If you could help put fun books in the hands of children, at no cost to their families, wouldn’t you? Dolly Parton’s Imagination Library does just that, gifting young children an age-appropriate storybook each month until they turn five years old. The United Way of Cowlitz and Wahkiakum Counties has partnered with the Imagination Library to help fund this program for local children.

Brooke Fisher-Clark, Executive Director of Cowlitz and Wahkiakum United Way, believes the Imagination Library helps prepare children for school. "United Way is very focused on this program's reputation for improving Kindergarten Assessment scores. Currently, only 30% of local children entering kindergarten are kindergarten-ready."

We’re partnering with our local United Way to raise funds for the Imagination Library program. If you’d like to donate, visit our Main branch in Longview anytime from May 3 through May 31. Together, we can encourage literacy and instill a lifelong love of reading in our local children.
